TAAS initiated and organized first ever World Tourism Day in Gangtok with lot of fanfare. The association also requested the government for the relaxation of permit for foreign tourists visiting Sikkim. Now the permit for foreigners can be obtained without any problem for a period of 15 days and extendable. Rangpo check post began provided 15 days permit. With the request by TAAS new areas were opened such as extreme North Sikkim and Singalila Range Treks. DoctorDan
